According to numerous Bosnian sources, including Avaz and SportSport, Dzanan Musa, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s premier basketball talent is being actively recruited by none other than MJ himself.
If the story is to be believed, Sejo Bukva, the director of one of Musa’s former basketball clubs, spoke to Avaz saying that Jordan spoke directly to Musa’s parents.
“Roy Williams expressed a desire to speak to speak to Dzanan’s parents. When they connected over Skype, Williams told them he’d like them to meet a good friend of mine. Jordan appeared. They were completely stunned, and silence ensued. His parents were told that Dzanan could be the number one pick in the draft, that’s how big of a talent he is.”
Bukva also said that as an NBA owner Jordan could not actively recruit Musa, but only expressed his wish to meet his parents briefly.
For those unfamiliar with Musa – the young Bosnian “youth” captain was the MVP of the 2015 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship. He led in scoring, at 23.3 points per game. He also averaged 9.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game during the tournament. Bosnia and Herzegovina finished in the 1st place, and Musa was named the MVP and was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
Musa has yet to sign a professional contract with a club. It remains to be seen if he stays with his current club Cedevita or goes elsewhere, even across the pond.
